I wonder if AI is viable, as currently structured - as the Indian government is offering to lend the airline money, if it can cut costs signficantly. See article for details:

What has happened before when AI's requested bailout money .. the money gets taken. The costs dont get cut because all the staff unions go on strike.

Praful Patel, the Civil Aviation Minister, has been talking tough - he says AI needs to cut close to Rs 8 billion of cost if they want the Rs 50 billion of bailouts ! I see one happening but not the other.

He's been talking tough the whole time he's been Civil Aviation Minister.

I'm worried that once AI goes down, the government may try to nationalise either Jet or KF !
