EGT certainly seems be a very busy boy! 300,000 miles on EK, 130,000 miles on SU plus he's a member of a 'Top Secret Elite Tier' on SU (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other-european-frequent-flyer-programs/1001490-status-match-su-01-10-2009-31-12-2009-a.html#post12609412) and then EK give him 500 bucks too!! Some guys just get all the luck. . .

Pah, I had that years ago. I also get a free room at the Burj Al Arab whenever I have a stopover, complete with the Rolls Royce transfers.

Cheers,

Wow! I just got this email from EK this morning:

Dear JGX,

As a thank you for flying Emirates, and having achieved over 3,000,000 tier miles this year, we are pleased to offer you your very own A380 for your own personal use at any time.

To use your A380, simply log in to your Special Diamond Tier Skywards Website (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Mitty), using your Diamond Skywards membership number and password and we'll send the 'bus round where ever and when ever you need it.

We hope you enjoy your gift and look forward to welcoming you on board soon.

Did anyone else get this too?

I envy you guys...

Dear typical,

As a thank you for flying Emirates, and having achieved over 20,000 tier miles this year, we're sending you a letter. To be honest, we usually wouldn't bother with this, but given they were all earned down the back on the Dubai-Riyadh shuttle, we thought you deserved some recognition. I know we made your life a little better when you no longer had to exchange your e-boarding pass for a printed one at check-in (even though you still have to do so at the gate), so we're thankful for that. We're glad, too, you still occasionally take our meal - even though we've only offered you two different choices for the whole of this year.

We're not actually going to give you anything mind you, other than some encouragement to stay with us until you've finally ground out Gold. We know it'll taste all the sweeter to achieve it given it's taken you all year, and not just two long flights like those lucky sods in the US. Rest assured we'll still be late departing Riyadh every week. We know how much you enjoy staying there - otherwise you'd be taking the Saudia flight at 1735.

Enjoy losing your status again when we change the rules next year!

Anyone else get this? It seems quite targeted.

I got an email saying that the programme was changing, which sent a shiver down my spine when I read just how the changes were all for MY benefit, rather like the changed to the Flying Poo programme with KLM/ AF.

300,000 miles eh?

:p Actualy its not like that & not too difficult because more than 92% of these tier miles came from flying paid F.

I have had a chance to meet someone in EK F who had done 500,000 tier miles already in July this year as this was announced by the Flight Purser to her as she was breaching the half million mark on this GRU - DXB flight. Now that is something which is crazy and the person was only 27 yrs old.

P.S: She was SQ PPS also as per the tag on her LV Bag:eek:

:) Actually the SU Top tier is not that much of a secret really. They have changed and moved it to 150,000 Tier miles just 1 month ago from 130,000 and made it 80% in paid J inplace of 70%.

FWIW, I believe you completely (in the amount of flown miles at least :p) as 300,000 is not unrealistic. My grandfather wanted me to make a redemption for him, so when I logged on to his account he had something like 4xx,xxx miles flown and it's only october. He does KHI-DXB-JFK vv in F or J almost every week though (and would have more if he hadn't shifted some of his flying to EY due to lower fares.)

Cheers,

300,000 is totally realistic, Once I take my next trip I will have racked up 55,000 within 6 weeks without even trying (2 F returns to the Far East).

My trips are for pleasure, so for someone using EK metal on a regular basis for business, 300,000 is very achievable over 52weeks.

Good for you guys that you get soo many tier miles. I wish there was a way to buy tier miles ;)
But with the new rules coming in for skywards FF it maybe even difficult to ever get a proper upgrade!

The amount of 300K in a year is very possible-- I know a hotel owner who during the last year of the construction he flew DXB-MRU in F every thursday monring and returned friday night -- he did this every week for the year- less 4 weeks he had family events.-- even if he used miles for some of the ticekts it is still over 500K.

According to the Skywards mileage calculator, 48 flights in F at Gold level would have bagged him 758,208 miles. I wonder if he got the 500 bucks too? . . .
