I was just wondering what the power ports are like on the 777-300ER, because my laptop is from the UK and hence has the 3-pin power connection, so wanted to know if i needed to buy a converter beforehand so that i can charge my laptop on the plane.
also the emirates website says:
"An in-seat power supply and a USB connection allow passengers to view videos and pictures from their laptops or portable devices"
when searching through google i found that alot of people were saying that you could view pictures but not movies? because i would have loved to thrown a few divx movies onto a USB and watch them on the seat screen instead of the laptop screen.
Thanks Guys

Not all seat 777ERs have the power ports on the seats, based on my experience..
And then, they have the US ports .. so you need an adapter!

Is there a way to work out if you will get power ports or not? As from my (limited) experience, sometimes you get a small screen and no ports, and sometimes you get a big screen and power ports....

MAN - DBX the seats have 2 pin sockets, the crew normally have a spare adadpter. Would however suggest you take your own. You will have the pop up screen via the arm rest with (i have never used it) the USB port.
Thanks Guys

Hmm I always thought we were limited to
Images
Audio Files
PDF Documents
IIRC the menu states so.... have not bothered in a while. Will test next week, lets see if I can play/watch a bunch of "Air Crash Investigation" documentaries in J and freak out the others. -> http://aci.110mb.com/
Or watch softcore porn ;)
Which 777s have the bulkhead mounted screen in J for middle row ?
300ER... any others?
EDIT: What video formats are supported? Considering the IFE runs off of RedHat, am gussing most Divx/Xvid videos should play. Anyone know, if WMV works?

What kind of control do you have over PDF's? Can you zoom etc and make things readable?

When I flew this route earlier this year the 777-300 ER had power ports for every J seat, and there was no need for an adaptor. I have an Aussie plug on my laptop which is three pins also, but not same as UK plug.
You put the plug in the socket and at the same time give it a twist and the plug will go in (get the FA to show you if you can't work it).
