Even if you only have a few points, now is the time to buy some so you can get a award on Jetblue. Points are 50% OFF
Even if you only have 15 points. 85 points for a award ticket will only cost you approx $240.

This of course comes out just after 38 TB points vanished last week from my account.
If it came out before my points evaporated, I would have likely purchased the points. Now, no point.
OTOH, I am not complaining about the points evaporation.
Last week I paid less than what B6 wanted to charge, flew AA NYC to MCO, was upgraded to F on all four segments, earned DEQM and triple AA points and had very good service on 3 of 4 flights (the other flight was average service).
I'm guessing that this was the major promo they were talking about building up to the launch of TB2. I'd have to spend $150 for the points I need to get a reward. I'm not sure it is worth it.
If one is at ~75 points or so it might be. But I don't think so at these prices.

Worked out great for me. I bought 80 points and got my boss 60 points to top up both of our accounts. Better to do that than to let the points go to waste and now we can start off fresh in the new program.
Looks like the number crunchers in Forest Hills have convinced Management that a decision to sell points into a soon-to-be-closed program will be a profitable one. :)

do points on the old program still expire after a year or is it only the new points?
Also, whats the latest on when tb2 might launch?

TB2 launches on November 9, 2009.

As the free seats under the old program are capacity controlled it is probably not much of a cost to jetBlue and can generate a few dollars in income. For me being based in SFO, most all of the flights are long so paying $200 for a free RT is still better than losing the points.

Oops - points don't expire if you fly once a year or use a JetBlue Amex.

Thats for the new points, I am assuming the old points will still expire after a year. Does the amex card still keep them alive?

I have a ? about the new TrueBlue, the RT using points is 100 pts. and it states the one-way is 5000pts. Could that be correct?
Thanks so much.

Thanks so much.
Yes, as you will earn points on a completely different schedule.

What would you do?
I have 50 points. I can buy 50 points for $154 for a free ticket. Should I or is it better at this level to just use them in the new system under whatever the formula is?

You wouldn't be able to use your current points in the new system - you'd only be able to transfer points earned in the new system to the old system to combine with your already earned points for a TB1 award.
In order to get 50 points to transfer over to TB1, you'd need 50*200 = 10,000 TB2 points, which you can get by spending $1666.67 on jetblue flights from their site. Of course you'd also be getting $1666.67 worth of airfare with that, so it really depends on if you were planning on spending that much anyway. But then you wouldn't be getting those points to use in TB2, which according to what we've heard could be worth a round trip flight....
EDIT: Actually, I forgot about those Bonuses - 500 points after accumulating 3000pts, 1000 after accumulating 6000pts, 2000 after accumulating 9000 points, and 4000 for every additional 3000 points. So it looks like you'd only need to earn 8500 TB2 points which after bonuses can get you those 10K points to transfer to TB1 for the 50 points you need. Therefore, you'd only need to spend $1416.67 on B6 flights on B6.com, or $1062.50 if you use your B6 Amex for them.
