Trip Reports - In search of Peace and Pavlova

We had two main objectives for our two week trip to New Zealand, the primary one being to award our lungs with a well deserved break from the thick Shanghai smog, and the secondary being to eat as much Pavlova as possible (one of the best desserts ever - i'm staying away from the NZ vs. AUS argument :) ).

I have to say our time in New Zealand exceeded our initial goals and hopes above and beyond, with an array of unexpected and unforgettable experiences greeting us along the way. To name just a few, we will never forget driving 2300 KM on the wrong side of the road through jaw dropping south island scenery, horse riding through LOTR Isengard country, watching and listening to the gentle tapping of sperm whales in Kaikoura, sipping world class chardonnays, sauvignon blancs, and pinot noirs and eating the freshest green lipped mussels on this earth at Fleur's Place, one of the best restaurants in the world, among alien boulders in Moeraki, standing on top of the world on a clear blue sky day at the Lake Tekapo Observatory, feasting on fresh salmon sashimi at a Twizel salmon farm, and a million other awesome memories.

New Zealand is Epic. The place and people are truly amazing, and i will definitely return one day.

I'll let my pictures do the rest of the talking, forgive me for not adding any airline shots, i was simply enjoying the world class Air NZ Bus./Prem. service and hospitality too much.

We spent two weeks in NZ last year, two months this year and now we have immigration papers in ;-) I could almost put most of the photo locations on the map and as we've been there only around February-March, the views with the snow capped mountains just make us want to go there again for the winter!
