Hi to all, just after some advice.
I have a family member who is booked to fly from Melbourne to HNL next month on Jetstar.
Flying this route on a Monday I would have thought the obvious flight booking would have been JQ3; MEL-SYD-HNL.
However the travel agent has booked their flight (through Jetstar) as MEL-SYD domestic on a codeshare Qantas flight, then switch planes and terminals in Sydney to join JQ3 to HNL. Why?!?
This seems like a very strange booking to me as JQ3 starts its day in Melbourne anyway and there are still seats available for this flight on the sector between MEL and SYD.
2 questions if I may:
*Is it worth my family member contacting their travel agent/jetstar to change their flight between MEL and SYD from the current domestic booking to JQ3?
*If they stay with the 'domestic' option to SYD, will they need to collect their bags at the domestic terminal or will their luggage be checked through between MEL and HNL?
Many thanks.
