SkyTeam - Bonus Coach tickets from NYC_TLV, Which Skyteam airline to become a member with?
I would like to fly a few times a year from NYC-TLV. Which Skyteam airline should I rack up my miles with, in order to earn a simple coach bonus ticket?
I understand that with Delta, it's 80,000 miles for a r/t from nyc-tlv. Is it true that it is only 50,000 on Klm/Airfrance? What about Alitalia?
On the other hand, do the European Airlines have a $300-$400 fuel surcharge on bonus tickets that Delta and other US carriers don't?
Do any airlines allow accumulating between spouses?
Please help me pick the right airline, soon?

Hi moefl,
First question: does it have to be Skyteam? With CO leaving ST, you may want to consider them, and the Star Alliance.
Now, in terms of Skyteam, while the DL cost may be higher, you will also earn 100% miles on pretty much all fares. Whereas with AF/KL, you will only earn 25% of the miles on the cheapest fares (there are 4 earning brackets 25% - 50% - 75% - 100%).
Being US based, DL may be your best bet, although you could look at Czech's program, OK Plus. Using DL, you will have more earning opportunities, aside from actual flying.
Finally, no, I am not aware of any Skyteam airline which allows for the pooling of miles between spouses.

I believe that KE does.
az has direct flights from fco to tlv and it's quite easy to earn and redeem miles
