Helsinki used to be a nice airport and easy to check into. They have now moved the KL check-in to the far end of terminal 1 (used to be domestic). Once you check in, you have to walk through the gate area all the way back to terminal 2 to where the KL gates have always been. Security lines were also very long this time for the first time. Give yourself plenty of time!!

All *A airlines are now at terminal 1. But they also depart from there and the SAS and *A lounge will also move to the old domestic terminal soon. Not all bad. I had no idea that SkyTeam was moved to T1 as well.
The long lines at security might have been because of the school holidays this week? IŽll check out myself on thursday.

Don't go through security in terminal 1. Walk landside to terminal 2 and go through there. No problems that way!

Didn't even think of that. I will remember that next time for sure!

I went through HEL T1 last week. No queues whatsoever. But T2 had long lines at security near the Finnair check-in desks in the middle of the airport.
And yes, the walk from T1 security to gates can be quite long. I found out after I had to walk all the way to T2 to get the free wireless connection to get a good signal. There was a good signal at T1 before security, but nothing at the T1 gate area.
