Not sure if this is the best forum - please move if appropriate.
So I come to the JL counters around 5:00pm for the SIN-NRT all sweaty from a Borneo connection (I didn't do the connections counter as I wanted to store a bag for three days). The one staff person advises the KUL flights would open at 5:30 and they would take the NRT after those were checked in. I politely asked if I might have an exception so I could have a shower and she suggested I use the Terminal 3 paid showers and that "the system won't allow to issue me a boarding pass" and no check-in was possible even with carry on. A bit ticked I left the counter for the bathrooms and noticed a business/first check-in for a variety of airlines to the left of immigrations entry. They checked my OW sapphire status and gladly issued boarding passes all the way through to my final in ORD. Nice benefit - too bad the JL staff didn't bother to ask/suggest my status/COS for check-in.
