Hi Everyone,

In a couple of months I will be flying from ICN-LAX via PEK on Air China. I'm a Star Alliance Silver member with United and I'm wondering what my baggage allowance is? It's not real clear on Air China's website.

Thank you for your time and help.

Best regards,

Bryan Corbin

2 pieces, 23kg each as the most likely situation as that is the standard allowance for transpacific flights. It does state this on the Air China website:

http://www.airchina.com.cn/en/travel_information/general_travelling_inforamtion/baggage_information/baggage_checked2.shtml

Yes, although it states "between China and USA", you are effectively allowed the same baggage allowance from ICN as you are originating from there on the same ticket via PEK to LAX.

Your *A Silver status does not give you any extra benefits at this time.

Only *A Gold members get an extra piece of luggage plus Priority tags on their luggage.

*A Silver gives you nothing on CA or in PEK.
*A Gold gives you access to the J Lounge in PEK, but its nothing all that special.

ICN-PEK is either a 737-800 with overhead video or a once daily A330 with AVOD.
