Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - New Year celebrations +baggage check through +Amsterdam *G lounge

A few questions that I was hoping I can get help with.

I've used my KF miles to upgrade myself to J class on SQ324 SIN-AMS on 31 Dec, arriving 1 Jan. I was wondering if SQ does anything special on New Year's Eve flights? Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm actually travelling to London, but the redemption requirement for SIN-LHR was around twice that of SIN-AMS because the former uses the A380/77W and the latter uses the 777-200ER. So I'm flying to AMS and then hopping a BMI flight to LHR. I have about a 6 hour layover.

First, does anyone know if I can check my bags through, or do I have to pick up my bags, then recheck in?

Second, what should I do at Schiphol for six hours? I understand that there are two Servisair Lounges, one Schengen and one international, and also a SQ lounge on the international side. But the SQ lounge closes early?

I would really appreciate any advice that anyone can give- it's my first time trying something like this.

1. Yes you can check your bags straight through to London. Just show SQ check in your connecting ticket on BD. But you'll have to pick up your BD boarding pass in AMS though.

2. You need to use the non-Schengen *A lounge. It won't be SQ's though.

3. Totally up to you as to what you want to do for 6 hours in AMS.

4. SQ cabin crew and the Captain may just say a discreet "Happy New Year" when the clock strikes 12. Champagne may go round, but you will see that most people who chose to fly on New Year's Eve did so cos they want to get away from the hoopla of it all, and really cannot be bothered about the 'event'. Well, that's what they do on CX.
