SkyTeam - I'm sorry sir, that is not possible. Continental is not in Skyteam anymore.

We've all heard the "it's not possible" part from KLM staff in AMS many times before, but the latter is news to me. I know CO is leaving SkyTeam on October 24, but jeez, it's only October 11 today.

What happened here? Today I am flying 3 segments involving KL, AF and CO, all on one ticket. When I checked in KL could check my bags through all the way, but could not provide a boarding pass for the CO flight. The check in agent suggested I try the transfer desk inside the hall. I tried the transfer desk and the Crown Lounge, and neither were able to do anything Finally I heard from the Crown Lounge agent that "Continental is not a part of the Skyteam anymore".

Well, no big deal, I can always get my BP from CO when I present myself for my last flight. But it sure is annoying that they kick out CO prematurely. Do you think it's CO that is not letting their BPs be issued by Skyteam partners anymore, or KL/AF that is shunning CO and not issuing their connecting BPs?

But that's just my opinion.
