Star Alliance - LAX-YYC in F: UA (regional) or US (mainline)

Award travel, and AC has no space (yet). I can either fly LAX-SFO-YYC on UA, the SFO-YYC on a CR7.

I can also do LAX-DEN-YYC, but I want to avoid DEN, as travel in is Feb.

Alternatively, there is LAX-PHX-YYC on US mainline.

(I looked into other AC connections, including SAN, LAS, YVR, and others).

If SFO-YYC was an E170 then that would get my vote as I really dont like the CR7's F cabin so much as it is really just a bit better than Y with regards to teh seat and nothing special with regards to service. So, I would choose US mainline as the seat will be better and I actually do not have any problems with US F service.

DEN is actually one of the best airports to go through in the country from a weather standpoint year round. It is rare that there is a significant snowstorm that effects DEN's operation.

My vote goes to US. PHX is a good airport to transfer and the service is usually quite good.
Plus you will be on the A320 which wins hands down compared to the alternatives

I flew YYC-SFO in UA F recently. ZERO food...all I was served was OJ in a plastic cup as a breakfast. No IFE. I won't be flying UA on this route ever again.

I would even take AC in economy over UA F. AC uses the very nice E90 on this route(as well as LAX). AVOD at every seat. Decent seat pitch. New clean planes.

IMO, DEN did not seem like a good place to transit.
