Just noticed this when checking my flexperks rewards balance this evening. It's highlighted in the bottom left corner of your rewards account summary page.
the fine print on the offer:
Select "Continue" to take the FlexPerks Visa Ticket Test Drive and receive your 250 bonus FlexPoints. Your one-time 250 bonus FlexPoints will be awarded 6-8 weeks after the end of the promotion period, and will only be awarded after your first visit.

How much are Flexperks worth?
I got a phone call yesterday whose intent was to encourage me to register (or accumulate or something) my existing NW card for Flexperks.
The call was strange: A recorded voice, not identifying the bank, said something like 'Important banking announcement. Please enter your ZIP code.'
I suspected a phishing call, so I punched in 12345. The voice said that number was incorrect. I punched in another made-up number, and the voice again told me it was wrong and said to call an 877 number.
I called the 877 number, which turned out to be US Bank, and the system said to enter my CC number. I mumbled some gibberish and was connected to a friendly human, who explained that it had to do with Flexperks.

I've been surprisingly pleased with it and will rack up all the points I can. I've already purchased a $350 ticket for 20K miles with mileage credit and upgrade opportunity (opposed to 35k miles on delta and no miles/upgrade). I also recently priced a ticket for $998 for 50K miles. I think it's pretty darm good.

Were we supposed to get a confirmation that we've done the test drive correctly? I got all the way to the booking screen then got the intended error of not having enough Flexpoints. Then clicked back to the rewards home page. Was there supposed to be a confirmation page?

I didn't get a confirmation page either. I did the same as you, played around with flights and at the booking screen, getting the message not enough points which already I knew, and went back to the account summary page. I guess if you are logged in and you click on the link, that's it's way of tracking you did it. just my guess.
