Emirates Airlines Skywards - The advantage of Skywards Gold/Water shortage

Just had a two week holiday in Cape Town. Booked a bargain NZ$2,099 return fare. 4 sectors upgraded from AKL-DXB-CPT return via MEL/BNE included:

MEL-DXB
DXB-CPT
CPT-DXB
BNE-AKL

Incredible....totally unexpected.

However I was unhappy on the DXB-BNE leg as EK seems to be loading less water/juice onto the aircraft. I kept on going down the back to get water and after about four visits, stated "my observation is that you are not doing water/juice rounds, which is crazy given the heat in this cabin". The cheif crew guy later came and talked to me and explain EK is cutting back. I said this was terrible given water is so essential. I pointed out the in-flight comfort video which said to have a high water intake. He remarked that this refers to "your water" i.e. bring your own. I arrived in BNE gasping for water and went to the EK lounge to moan (in a nice way). Will right to EK about this water issue as the crew informed me that EK is loading less water now. Anyone else a bit thirsty recently?

That seems crazy, is the issue just a local issue to one sector or all flights?

Since the banning of liquids at many airports the bring your own is no longer a viable option, this is worse than Ryan Air charging to use the loo's.:td:

I've never seen this. It seems more likely that there was an error loading supplies and checking them before take off. A quick turn-around perhaps. If it were a new policy I'd expect it to apply on all routes, not just this one.

Never experienced this myself, most airports you can buy water or any other liquid drink after the last hand luggage security check.

BKK used to check your bags right at the depature gates, but they have moved the hand luggage security check to right after immigration.

I have always found the cabin on Emirates to be on the cool side rather than warm, resulting in me reaching for my jumper or blanket.

Still, if this is new policy, cost cutting too far ?
