Hi

I'm about to fly on Virgin America (I know, VX--wasn't thinking with the title) from IAD to SFO and really don't feel like lugging my car seat for my 3 year old. I've been looking at the CARES restraint system and considering it, but was wondering if anyone has seen it in use on a Virgin flight.

My question is a tad silly, but the system works by wrapping a strap around the seat, opening the dinner tray behind the seat and placing the strap underneath. The thing is that the seats on the Virgin flights have trays that seem a bit 'molded' into the design, and I'm wondering if the strap is going to prevent the person behind me from latching their tray shut or not?

Here is a pic from Amazon.

Has anyone seen a CARES restraint in use on a Virgin America flight?

Never seen it on a VX flight. I do love to use it, as it is much safer for my son.

I have used it many times for my child on various airlines and airplanes and classes. I have also used it on flights with indented tray tables. Some were much more indented than VX seat. I simply had it under the tray table, it was not a problem. If you are very concerned, simply sit in the the last row or in front of the bulkhead, then there is no one to disturb with the strap. This is what I did when we flew in C.
