UA Fan Oct 9, 09, 3:01 pm Doesn't this conflict with 9W's arrangements with SAA? Me thinks it will be dropped soon. aniruddh77 Oct 9, 09, 8:53 pm That's become the watchword for both of us, I can see, in the last few days. A total lack of trust in AI's abilities!!! UA Fan Oct 9, 09, 8:55 pm That's become the watchword for both of us, I can see, in the last few days. A total lack of trust in AI's abilities!!! Even though I am Indian, I despise AI so much I would love to see it disappear. d3vski Oct 9, 09, 11:39 pm Hate to burst the bubble but this codeshare is not going to be dropped. SAA are Star and AI are crawling into Star as well! SuperFlyBoy Oct 10, 09, 12:13 am Terrible news - Jet has to push for *A, regardless. d3vski Oct 10, 09, 2:45 am Terrible news - Jet has to push for *A, regardless. No, No, Oneworld is the way forward! aniruddh77 Oct 10, 09, 9:47 am No, No, Oneworld is the way forward! But that would mean Jet necessarily having to drop its arrangements with SAA, wouldn't it? d3vski Oct 10, 09, 11:28 am But that would mean Jet necessarily having to drop its arrangements with SAA, wouldn't it? There are some exceptions to the rule, I believe Qantas codeshare with someone to europe (i think Air France) who are in an opposition alliance. sharmaintl Oct 10, 09, 11:39 am Doesn't this conflict with 9W's arrangements with SAA? Not really as 9W is not in any alliance. Even if in an opposing alliance, airlines are free to make some limited code share agreements with others. AI - SAA code share was inevitable as AI is joining 8A. I think this step was taken due to the delay in AI's joining *A, which seems to be in eternal limbo. While I can't stand AI, I am looking forward to earning EQM on UA while flying domestic within India once the *A join happens. Any new on what the status is? Last I heard AI still had to re-do all its IT systems to make them *A compatible. capetonian Oct 10, 09, 2:20 pm There are some exceptions to the rule, I believe Qantas codeshare with someone to europe (i think Air France) who are in an opposition alliance. Qantas also codeshares (and revenueshares IIRC) with SAA. |
