Has anyone experienced this flight in Y?
This seems to be the cheapest fare from HKG to KIX, am wondering if the flight is pleasant overall - seat comfort, entertainment, food, etc. Thanks.

As I have always said, avoid AI as much as possible. :)
I suspect you will have a subpar experience in Y. And if there are irrops, then you will wish you would have walked.

The HKG-KIX is actually an old old plane on the KIX-HKG-DEL-BOM routing (forgot whether that's an old 744 or an AB3). Either way, 4 stop milk runs aren't going to be the best for you .. if its that cheap on a heavy traffic route that means there are these fun things like long and inexplicable delays, poor service etc that you might want to consider.

I did this route 15 years ago and it was fine. ;)
Was on a 747-200 that looked a bit old but was otherwise fine. Flights were on time. Food and service were acceptable, but nothing special. But my experience 15 years ago is probably not a good indicator of what AI is like today...

Thanks for all your feedback. Unfortunately tickets already booked. I thought a 3+ hour flight can't be that bad  but, judging by your concerns, could be badly wrong.
Watch this space... if I live to tell the tale, I will!

It gets delayed often. I'd say nearly every time I'm in the HKG airport around the departure time of AI311, it's showing 1hr+ delay.

Likely to be the same 747-200 even now.
