Air New Zealand Air Points - NZ6841 from BNE/NLK tonight 9/10/09

Does anyone know whats up with the special flight from NLK/BNE tonight. From both airnz.co.nz & Auckland Airport it is showing its arriving at 2340.

That sort of routeing looks like its a prop hopping its way here.

They seem to have some wierd flights in the early hours of the morning - the same at CHC too. A few times at ~5pm i have also seen a prop NZ flight on the departures out of AKL domestic and then 15 minutes later it is scheduled on the arrivals?

Edit: AKL airport reports that NZ6841 from NLK is cancelled but...there is an a NZ6840 arr from AKL at 2345????

Yesterdays flights to NLK returned to AKL because of the weather in NLK. The flights you see are specials operating to clear the backlog.

There is a SB flight this morning AKL-NLK-NOU.

So they must have used the last A320 to AKL from BNE last night to pop in to NLK along the way. I bet the passengers where happy not!

There must be a large backlog to need to get SB to stop in NLK today, the normal Saturday A320 flight to NLK seems to still be running.

The evening flight from BNE-AKL operated normally. There appeared to be two additional flights ex BNE with NZ684* numbers. One was direct BNE-AKL the other via NLK.

On NZ's own site there was only the BNE-NLK-AKL flight. Not the Flight via NLK arrived at the same as the direct flight.

I was using Flight Explorer and saw three separate a/c as per my post.

I see NZ90 NRT-AKL got diverted to GUM today, I wonder why?
