Star Alliance - nrt transfer question (LH-ANA)

I have transferred flights in NRT many times, but only from UA to UA with boarding pass in hand. I am now scheduled to fly into NRT from Frankfurt on LH, and have 45 minutes to get to All Nippon 1081 (operated by Air Japan). The local ANA office did not know if LH would give me their boarding pass in Frankfurt. If they do, I don't see any problem (assuming everything is on time).
However, if I get off the LH flight without an onward boarding pass, where do I go for ANA or Air Japan?

If I understand you correctly you are transferring from Lufthansa to All Nippon. Are they both on the same reservation? If they since, since both airlines are Star Alliance they should print out your All Nippon Boarding pass in FRA. If they are two different reservations they probably cannot print it out and you would need to get it in Tokyo.
Remember, when you land in Tokyo you have to go through security again (not immigration or customs if your bag was checked through).

I suspect that is on separate tickets. 45 minutes seems too short a connection between airlines at NRT to be within the minimum connection time (MCT).

In case that you don't have your onward boarding pass: make sure that you have a printout of your reservation to go thru security and then get the new boarding pass at the gate. I had a similar situation a few month back.
I would assume your gates are in the same terminal, then 45 min is doable with the usual assumptions.

Thanks, all. It *is* all on one ticket, an award from UA. While all Nippon didn't seem to know what would happen with my flying out of FRA, I've now contacted LH, and they said they would certainly give me a boarding pass. I didn't know you could get through security transfer with just a receipt--that's useful to know, and so I'm relieved that if all works rights, I should be able to do it. And if it doesn't work right, I'll be able to get to the UA or ANA people airside and get stuff sorted out.
