Your post is a little unclear- might want to reformat and repost.

Assuming it is as you ask, MR points are convertible at 1600 points = 1,000 SQ miles, at least for Singapore Amex cards.

3 business class roundtrips from Hanoi to LAX, with a stopover in Singapore will run you 612,000 krisflyer points (you can get saver Business redemptions from Hanoi to Singapore, but only Standard redemptions from SIN to LAX), which would be 979,200 Amex MR points.

There's probably ways to do this for many fewer points via MR points directly, or buying Y class tickets, etc, but this answers your question as best able given your original posting.

Firstly, welcome to FlyerTalk and the Singapore Airlines Krisflyer forum!

Secondly, we need to know which Amex card you hold? If you hold an American amex card, I doubt you can transfer to Krisflyer. Then try to transfer to another *A american carrier's FFP and redeem using a partnership with SQ.

Try looking at alternatives, and other airines. From HAN, you may try to take TG for example to SIN via BKK, and then from SIN, if SQ isn't available, then you may try on either NH via NRT, or UA via NRT.

But be flexible in your travel dates.

Otherwise it might be better for you to just buy your ticket. There should be special business class deals from Vietnam to US on SQ. But you need to go through Vietnamese travel agent in HAN instead of through travel websites.

Like Guy Betsy said we need to know which amex you hold and in what country.
For example my USA based Amex Plat transfers 1:1 MR to KF, and my Amex Gold was the same.

If you have the points on an USA Platinum Amex, go to your Membership Rewards page and under travel , look for the airlines available for transfer,
You should see
Singapore listed and it will say something like
1000 Membership Rewards = 1000 Krisflyer Miles

You should check for availability before transferring the points.

The way to transfer is easy, you link your account in the Amex page and then transfer the points.

ETA: I don't know about the Citi Card

SHIRLEYSTAMEN, where have you gone?

Although we here on FT are geared to help you in any way we can, we are not here to do all the work for you. You still have to check on things yourself and at least RESPOND to our queries and suggestions.

Please be aware that Krisflyer is currently the most expensive way to redeem SQ Business Class tickets to/from USA. If you can covert it to another FFP, like Delta Skymiles, it will be better.

Krisflyer awards run between 120K miles for a saver award in Business Class on the 747-400 flights (but soon to be replaced by the 77W).

77W and A345 flights' Business Class award flights 'costs' a ridiculous amount of miles. eg 240K miles per person !

=========
Other US programmes might be better for you, for example, most only need 120K for a business class award ticket redeemable on any of their partners. But note that no one can redeem a ticket on SQ's 77W, A345 and A380 business class flights other than Krisflyer.

Citibank AAdvantage OBVIOUSLY redeems into AAdvantage. You may then use your points to redeem for AAmerican Airlines' partners like Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific. But no Singapore Airlines.

Basically for any award redemption for travel around Thanksgiving is really cutting it very close!

And looking for 3 'coveted' biz class seats at once is also quite ambitious though possible when you are flexible and explore different scenarios and airlines. I would argue SQ may be prohibitively expensive in terms of required mileage unless you got like 1 Million Amex Membership rewards points lying aorund and really want to get rid of them.

Apart from that I'm still fuzzy on where you are based at (US?) and where your Amex was issued (US? SIN? VIETNAM?) It all makes a difference. Plus are you looking for a one way redemption or a roundtrip?

Update: The OP would like to use US AMEX MR points or AAdvantage points (from the Citibank Credit Card I guess) to go ONEWAY HAN-SIN (stop) -LAX.

Personally I'm thinking this asks a bit for *A instead of OW as I'm not sure how to get to SIN from HAN on a OW carrier other then via HKG which likely would not be allowed in combination with a SIN-LAX redemption (routing restrictions, different zones, backtracking etc.). Mileage wise I know SQ KF would charge 50% of miles for one-way but others will be more.

Take some time to improve the language here and you may get some help. Your posts are quite rushed and disorganised but you want everyone else to take time to assist you?
Perhaps also contact AMEX?

The OP PMed me and I provided some details on what I think she should do but since then I have not heard anything. I think if the OP wants to stick around on FT and get advise in the future then some little signs of appreciation for others trying to help with detailed feedback like a simple 'Thank you' need to be added to more structured posts and maybe some upfront reading on FT on the issue.

Just for completness sake here is my response to the query though I honestly think the OP has not the slightest idea how to accomplish this and wasted a lot of goodwill for future help by being so erradic in posting and responding:

Cathy Pacific (CX) is certainly a good choice. Some people say their new c-class is too claustrophobic but tastes differ. Also not sure if AAs new seat product is already installed on any of the aircraft flying Asia to US but then I try to avoid US carriers for lack of service and good inseat product (though UAs new Biz class seat is good). JAL (Japan Airlines) is also a good carrier in the One World alliance for which yo could use AAdvantage points.

Now the main issue is here how many miles you would have to pay for a One-Way award in the prpogram to which you transfer the miles too. For example with KrisFlyer (SQs program) they charge 50% of the round-trip mileage for a one way award which is nice. On other carriers it is 70% or more. This can greatly affect the number of points / miles required.

Then you need to check on availability for award seats on the carriers/ flights you would like to take. There are different ways to do is though I only know how ot check this for Star Alliance (search for 'ANA tool' on FT under the British Midland forum) and do not know it for Oneworld.

Once you have found good availability for a desired routing you need to transfer your MR or AAdvantage points to whatever airline you choose to redeem with. If you want SQ then you need to send MR points in teh required amount to KrisFlyer. If you want to book with Oneworld airlines you need ot transfer to AAdavantage and then get a redemption through them on AA, Cathay, JAL or a mix of them.

Keep fingers crossed that the seats you want do not disappear while you ar etransferring the miles and then when they have arrived call up the frequent flyer programm to book them. Some programs like AAdvantage may allow you to 'reserve' the award while the miles are coming into the account though I m not sure on thet. Having high status with AA may help.

On KrisFlyer they will only book for you when you got the miles (all of them). So there is a risk that you have hundreds of thousands of miles in a SQ krisflyer account but can't get the flights you want. Then they are stuck there. No way to get them back.

So lots of things to consider. Not easy for one persona and hard to do for 3 people all on the same flight. maybe you ar elucky and availability will be good, but 1 month to do all this is certainly possible for experienced folks but not easy to pull of if you are new to all this.

Hope this helps.

Cheers ....
