I moved to NC this summer and will be flying out of CLT to BOS next week. Haven't flown through CLT before, so is there anything in particular I should know before heading out? (Or Boston, for that matter- haven't flown there in 3 years) thanks in advance for any help!

Here's a guide to CLT (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/us-airways-dividend-miles/960664-us-guide-clt-charlotte-airport.html) from the US Airways forum.

You didn't specify the airline you're taking, but there's a 90%+ chance you're taking US (since they control that much of the CLT traffic). Even if not, you may get your concerns addressed.

Flying JetBlue. Hopefully that means everything good USAir says plus some.

Haven't flown through CLT before, so is there anything in particular I should know before heading out?Nope. CLT is just like every other airport.

You'll probably want to go through the D security checkpoint, but all gates are connected behind security so if D looks long but C looks short go to C. JetBlue checkin is down in the D area so if you get off at the beginning of the departures level you'll have to walk pretty far towards the end. The shuttle drivers tend to forget about jetblue and lufthansa when they say "all airlines except US here" You want to be left off with the US Air people or you'll just have to walk. It's really not a bad walk though.

The TSA at CLT is usually fairly good. I go through them weekly and have only had a couple cases worth reporting here.

I park in Daily. The long terms seem to cram cars in and Daily is just $2 more per day. If you park in Long Term just remember which lot (1 or 2) as well as the row letter. If you part in Daily just remember if you parked Surface, East Deck or West Deck. If you're in the deck just remember the floor and row.
...If you forget all that...just ask the bus driver to look up your license plate. They keep track of where all the cars are and can at least tell you which lot if not more than that. Parking takes credit cards. No signature under $50.

That sums up the gist of what i'd tell a newbie. Consult that other thread for dining options.
