Not really a mileage run, but a great price for the summer season. Seems like a mistake since all other destinations are significantly more expensive. There current schedule from EWR runs from June 2010 to August 2010.

I haven't used or heard of them. Are they financially stable? So many businesses failed in Iceland in the last year

Also works in the other direction btw!!!
Great find. It is deffo a mistake, since the prices given in Euros and GBP for that same journey are much more!

Only prices cheap when you set it to USD. Every other currency prices correctly.

Too blurry to see screenshot - low resolution.
Are you sure this wasn't in GBP (British pounds)?
No USD seen in currency quotes.
Wish they'd allow stopovers.

Same from LGW. Wonder if they'll honor.
Edit: My mistake; before tax.

random booking in June 2010... Grand total, USD 326
the thing is that they don't seem to run every day... :(
also while cheap, since no chance for miles, this should be in Budget Travel :D;)

i think they're missing a couple decimal places at the initial price/flight selection page for some currencies, but then it'll be corrected at payment page.

Here is a high res screen shot:
Word of caution: this airline only has 3 planes...
The airline was established in 2002 and began operations on February 27, 2003 with daily flights to London and Copenhagen using Boeing 737-300 aircraft wet leased from Astraeus. This contract was taken over by JetX Airlines and then by Hello. In the fall of 2008, Astraeus resumed operating all flights on behalf of Iceland Express with two Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The airline was owned by Icelandic investment group, Northern Travel Holding.[4]. Norther Travel Holding was acquired in full by Fons in September 2008[5]. It silently changed hands before the bankruptcy of Fons to sister company Fengur[6]. Fons was established by the two main owners of Fengur[7].
Fons Eignarhaldsfelag has agreed to acquire a majority 51% stake in Astraeus, reportedly for £5m. The move would help the Icelandic group support their Iceland Express subsidiary to begin low-fare transatlantic services. The two airlines would continue to operate as separate entities and it is understood that Astraeus could have supplied Iceland Express with Boeing 757-200 aircraft to start flights from Iceland to New York and Boston in spring 2007 [8].
Fleet
Iceland Express MD-90The Iceland Express fleet consists of the following aircraft (as of September 16, 2008):
2 Boeing 737-700 (Operated by Astraeus)
1 McDonnell Douglas MD-90
Since Iceland Express does not operate these aircraft itself, but under wet-lease, the airline uses Astraeus's IATA and ICAO codes and is heard using Astraeus's callsign "FlyStar"
booking w credit card should provide some protection case they go under, no?

Nope - in for two: confirmed the hold on my CC as $760 for two pax in July. If you choose seats, they increase the fare; if you get cancellation insurance (WARNING: ONLY WORKS WITH A DOCTOR'S NOTE!), they increase the fare.

Lost my outward sector LGW-KEF last year due to my connecting flight going tech. The insurance wasn't worth the paper I had printed it on.
Flight times tend to change at short notice with Iceland Express, but on the one trip I actually flew with them - KEF-LGW - the plane was new, comfy and arrived on time. Competent pilots and pleasant crew. What more could you want ......... and yes, I would book with them again.

Hi belvie1,
Welcome to FlyerTalk!
You have posted a budget/LCC airline fare (and a non Mileage Run fare 'deal') into the Mileage Run Deals forum.
Please read this thread, which is a prominent sticky thread at the top of Mileage Run deals: it explains what we consider is a Mileage Run 'Deal' suitable for sharing in the MR Deals forum:
Sticky: Welcome to the Mileage Run Forum - Important information how the MR forums work (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mileage-run-deals/454485-welcome-mileage-run-forum-important-information-how-mr-forums-work.html)
For any great 'deal' fare which also earns miles but isn't a true MR Deal, please post into the 'Good Deals in Ecopnomy' thread, or for non-alliance/non status/non major FFP fares, please post in the Budget Travel forum, whic is where I've moved this fare.
Thanks for sharing, but please read the sticky thread above, so that followers of Mileage Run Deals can stick to 'real deals' that help with freuqnt flyer status and miles on the major airlines.
Cheers,

This would be worth it if they allowed a free stopover in KEF, like IcelandAir does...but for the life of me I can't seem to find anywhere on the site where it mentions stopovers...

Just checked now. The fare mentioned is for OW and not for a RT.
The OW fare is now $323 or $313, depending on direction. The grand total is now 636.
The grand total WAS (while the deal was active) $326. The OW sale fare in both directions was $79+
