I am flying almost the end of November on Etihad Airways from JFK to AUH in First Class.

I have noticed that EY is installing brand new suites in First class on their long haul flights.

Is the plane used on JFK route A345 will have the new First Class suites at the end of November or they use the old conventional seats that exist at the moment on the A345 ?

I think the only info we actually know at the moment is that the new suites are on the AUH-LHR route on some flights.

If Etihad Insider is reading maybe s/he might shed some more light, although I asked whether they would be on any Australian flights by November and there was no further info forthcoming.

Gossip was predicting they would go onto Chicago first, but that proved wrong, but maybe USA will be next after LHR.

I view it as adding to the excitement of the trip - don't expect anything and then if you walk into the cabin and you have suites it will be so much nicer.

The rollout of the new suites is planned to take until the end of 2010, so I think November is a bit soon to count on anything - we are flying first in November as well, but from the opposite end of the world. We will be flying AUH-LHR on the second leg, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. :D

Definitely no F suites to ORD as of three weeks ago. I think the suites are only on one aircraft and its a A340-600. If your schedule has a -600 in it, then there is always the possibility of getting the aircraft, but I think its being used to LHR pretty exclusively right now.

That is correct - there is only one aircraft at present with the new configuration and it's currently scheduled for the AUH-LHR route exclusively (EY17/EY18).

Chicago is schduled to get the A340-600 during November. Will there be any chance that EY send the new first suite to ORD ?

This hasn't been finally decided yet, but if I were a betting man, I would bet on it going into service on the London route, to complement the first aircraft already operating this route.;)
