Hey up,

I am planning to take my wife & daughter on a weekend break shortly.

I am a Skywards Gold & would like them to accompany into the EK lounges in HKG & BKK. Will be doing exactly the same at Xmas in HKG, DXB and BHX.

What is EK's general policy on this? I know I can take 1 guest in with me, but will they turn either my wife or 11 year old daughter away?

Appreciate your wisdom!

Cheers,

The Tickler

It's hit and miss to be honest..

Policy is only one guest as you obviously know, but you hear of people getting more than 1 guest in. If you fail in DXB T3 lounge, you can always then go to T2 and try there. BKK I guess it depends on the times as they can get full at times, HKG if you are on the HKG-BKG-DXB flight, it may be hard, again the lounge gets really full, for the direct HKG-DXB if you arrive once boarding has begun for the earlier flight they may be more leniant.

The current Serviceair lounge in BHX you will have no problem, they let anyone in there, just ask for a wheelchair, it seems that ALL people requesting assistance seem to get in that way.

Will be interesting when I try especially at DXB. I just can't believe they would turn away an 11 year old girl...

BHX - I would rather buy a beer & burger in the Yatesy than be forced to go in the Servisair lounge. The most horrible lounge - ever, Fact! I am flying out of BHX on 2nd Jan so hopefully the new EK lounge will be open. Doubt it though!

HKG / BKK - will report back on my success!

I usually stand outside smoking with my take-away starbucks in hand.. love seeing all the bucket and spade brigade rock up in their new trainers - you gota love BHX for that..
