JetBlue TrueBlue - Jet Blue baggage claim is really bad

I flew Jet Blue on August 8 and they lost my bag. On October 1 they offered me less than 60% of what I showed them I lost. I offered to compromise and take free flights in lieu of cash. They did not budge. I offered a combination of cash and tickets. They did not budge. They lost my bag but I must take the loss. For me it is goodbye Jet Blue. They have become like all the other failed airlines, putting dollars ahead of smart customer relations and their unchangeable rules ahead of solving problems. I will now have to go to Court to get what they sould have offered in the first place, fair compensation for my loss.

How did you show them something that is lost? :p
Anyways I tend to find complaints by first time posters very amusing and useless since they often time leave out certain bits of critical information and include only stuff that will make the airline look like the villain. I bet the 40% of the stuff lost are either stuff that exceeded what jetBlue is willing to pay out per their contract of carriage or are stuff that jetBlue or other airline simply will not be responsible in a check luggage such as cash, tickets, electronics, etc... Or the OP simply did not declare the excess valuation of the items in the check luggage at the time of check in per the contract of carriage.
With out knowing the full detail of your situation and based on similar complaints, I think going to court over this is a waste of your time and money.
Welcome to FlyerTalk!!
Without knowing what you've lost I'm going to suggest that you not waste your time with the court route. They have pretty specific rules and details in the Contract of Carriage that define their liability for lost luggage. Odds are they are following those rules and you're going to end up losing your court case.
What was lost? Clothing or something more?

If small claims court is not worth pursuing perhaps this may help:

A complaint with the DOT will not result in anything useful for the filing party. It just shows up in some statistics that the DOT distributes.
