Just wondering if others are addicted to logging into their mileage summaries multiple times a day to check postings, DiningRewards, etc.
Travel Tools - How many times a day do you log-in to check your mileage balances?View Full Version : How many times a day do you log-in to check your mileage balances? AA_CPA Oct 5, 09, 3:13 pm Just wondering if others are addicted to logging into their mileage summaries multiple times a day to check postings, DiningRewards, etc. halothane Oct 5, 09, 3:28 pm Only when I have outstanding miles....but it's not a daily thing for me. b1513 Oct 5, 09, 4:29 pm It depends. If I'm waiting for miles to post I'll look daily especially if there are missing miles to be posted. In the latter situation I might even check a few times a day. Yeah, I'm addicted too. My name is b1513 and I'm a ...... Bobette MWRFlyer Oct 5, 09, 4:53 pm I've been checking daily if not multiple times a day with DEQMs hitting at weird times as well as for checking out my balance and future trips to start estimating end of year MRs. AAerSTL Oct 5, 09, 6:15 pm I check my miles everyday around 1:00pm. No particular reason for that time, just out of habit. If I am anticipating the posting of something like DBEQM, then several times each day. Schutzee Oct 5, 09, 6:16 pm Once a day via Mile Tracker Firewind Oct 5, 09, 8:08 pm Grasshopper, time was when I would call the Mileage Plus 800# at least daily. (That is, pre-web.) Today, not as often as I log into FlyerTalk... :D Seriously, back in the day, everything things worked a lot more as they should. jackal Oct 5, 09, 8:35 pm I log in very rarely anymore as notifications of new activity via PageOnce are pushed to my iPhone via the Assistant app instantly. (Well, as soon as PageOnce finds out about them--I don't know how often it checks.) Tiki Oct 5, 09, 8:47 pm Several times a day due to the Priority Club and US Grand Slam promos and I am getting lots of small hits due to shopping purchases. Otherwise, normally once or twice a week to see if there are any surveys or promos. CPRich Oct 5, 09, 9:04 pm I guess I'm the "strange" one here. I might check 2 or 3 of my balances on a given weekend and refresh Mile Tracker every couple of months. I know that I have more miles than I can use for several years, and with status on all relevant programs completed for the year, I don't really have a compelling need to check. mahasamatman Oct 5, 09, 10:07 pm I don't bother checking mileage balances, but I do check itineraries for schedule changes once or twice a day. chrisksc Oct 5, 09, 11:30 pm Fuuny that you ask.... I just returned home (SIN) from HKG last evening (UA895 11.30pm arrival) and I have been checking my mileage balance every hour (when I am awake and at my laptop) since last Saturday... The reason being... my EQM stands at 98,647 Was wishing the DEQM would update by the time my return trip comes. But this did not happen. With the latest flight (1,603 miles) I would cross over to 1K (100,250 with DEQM should be 103,456)... It is an important milestone for me, a bit excited ;) Efrem Oct 6, 09, 10:54 am Perhaps once a day if I'm waiting for something to post, especially if I anticipate perhaps having to request missing mileage credit. Maybe more often if it involves a milestone, such as requalifying for a status level or qualifying for a new one. Other than that, only incidentally en route to redeeming an award or doing something else that displays the information. PedroNY Oct 6, 09, 11:04 am I use Fidelity.com "Full View", I loaded all of my programs into that application, so I can always see my current miles/points, make it very easy -- a few times a week. CMK10 Oct 6, 09, 2:30 pm Like others have said, only when I'm owed miles. I usually check first thing in the morning after getting to work. AA is the exception to this as I have all my dining/credit cards/hotels/rental car earnings set to them so miles are always trickling in. mikeef Oct 6, 09, 2:40 pm No more than once per week. Mike outoftown Oct 6, 09, 3:00 pm I have a Excel file with all my air and hotel accounts as well as Mrs. Outoftown's info. When I was traveling, I would reconcile the boarding passes to make sure the miles were deposited, so I checked every weekend. Now that I'm not traveling, I check monthly to update the expiration dates to ensure nothing expires. It was interesting to see the NW miles added to my DL miles this week. -outoftown Middle_Seat Oct 6, 09, 3:07 pm Every day or two until so most of my airlines quit updating on MileTracker. Now it's too much trouble to check all the accounts of all the family members. cepheid Oct 6, 09, 4:22 pm I use Fidelity.com "Full View"Fidelity's FullView is a co-branded version of Yodlee MoneyCenter. For those who are not Fidelity members, you can get the same thing from Yodlee directly; it's also available co-branded through a number of other institutions (e.g. Bank of America MyPortfolio). I use Yodlee, as well... it's my one-stop-shop for financial and rewards tracking. Once a day, every day. shpatel Oct 6, 09, 4:30 pm Once a week at least travelingmore Oct 7, 09, 7:21 am I usually check the major miles and points accounts daily; the others, and those on behalf of family members, I check 1-2 times a week. I am usually checking for promotional or shopping miles to be awarded. I have had to start keep a record of those, with approx. posting dates, to remind me to check and then to claim if they don't appear. tiddyzhang Nov 17, 09, 8:23 pm 2-3 times Goofy Foot Nov 17, 09, 10:30 pm Always when the credit cards statements start to appear towards the end of the month. Also, when I'm looking for a bonus that others on FT have posted is starting to show up. joefiro Nov 17, 09, 10:40 pm Only when I have flights and definitely a few times during credit card statement closing date to check the bonus miles from MP Visa. Gamecock Nov 17, 09, 11:44 pm 1. Daily when I am flying alot 2. Monthly when I am not flying Just wondering if others are addicted to logging into their mileage summaries multiple times a day to check postings, DiningRewards, etc. goalie Nov 18, 09, 7:38 am i use a spreadsheet to track my miles (current & projected) so..... if outstanding flight/car/hotel miles: daily if outstanding promo miles (i.e. deqm): daily if within the promo posting period other than that weekly (and usually saturdays as things like safeway grocery miles generally post on friday evenings) Mr. Mastodon Flyer Nov 18, 09, 9:18 am I tend to log in every day when I have flights coming up, in the never-ending quest to optimize my seat assignment. :D I see the miles at the same time I'm doing this. michikade Nov 18, 09, 12:03 pm I check it every day if I'm waiting specifically for something to post (Tom Thumb miles, RN dines, etc), otherwise about once a week or so to see if anything I may have overlooked to fall in. I usually have a pretty good idea of what my balance should be, though. jrm68 Nov 18, 09, 12:46 pm I am the person in charge of several accounts for my family, those I check once or twice a month. True confession, My own, is checked much more often, it seems I am always waiting for points and having to contact customer service for missing miles, so it can be as often two or three times a day to every few days, but that depends on what points and accounts and how impatient I am feeling :) harpodamann Nov 18, 09, 1:27 pm 0 I know what I have. Non-NonRev Nov 18, 09, 1:27 pm AA miles post in a fairly regular overnight batch pattern, so I usually look once (in the morning) three days (two overnight processing periods). I usually don' bother if I'm in a week with no activity. |
