Is the Q class ticket eligible for Standby upgrade to business on TG?

Yes, however there seems to be some inconsitency over the amount of miles you may receive (original booking class or upgraded class).

A second yes, from experience last week. And W/V/lower fare classes too

And a second vote for inconsistency over mileage received - I got full J miles (x2) in diamond club for LHR-BKK two weeks ago, but only Q miles (x1) for BKK-LHR five days later :rolleyes:

Standby upgrade (ie paid upgrade on day of departure at the airport) can be applied to any fare.

The Q class requirement is for ROP Gold status members who received a voucher for a single sector upgrade as a 'birthday gift' - over and above the promulgated annual upgrade for ROP Gold members (which does require essentially Q or better booking class)

Consider yourself lucky then ! My GUP Q to J AKL-BKK and BKK-AKL (into THAI ROP) was initially credited as J miles (ie x 125%), but then an accounting ;'reversal' happened and regular Q miles earned....

Unfortunately, you can't use the gold voucher for Q class...

Yes, you need a M at least for the gold voucher and Q is OK for an ordinary standby upgrades, Most cheapies are VW, there the ones to avoid if you want to upgrade at the airport, regards bkkrop

Last week I tried to upgrade a w class fare BKK CNX to J but was told the ticket was non upgradeable at check in. However, to my surprise I was awarded miles on both sectors of this ticket. On a side note, yesterday i was opped up for the first time in 50 flights on tg 949 - Q to J. 948 has proven better with wbout 6 op ups.

Domestic V/W always earn miles, it's international V/W that don't, so your miles for BKK-CNX in W was to be expected.
