Air France Frequence Plus - Reduced Prices on CityJet Domestic Flights

It would seem that ticket prices on domestic UK flights with CityJet have been greatly reduced. A One Way from LCY to EDI is now around GBP39, and from LCY to DND Dundee GBP60, which is quite a bit better than it was before. They are actually working out cheaper than BA from LCY, now that they have adopted cheaper One Way fares. It books however into the dreaded N-class. Well, I know, every class is to be dreaded with them now.

It would also seem to point that the franchise arrangement with ScotAirways is going to continue.

That's good to hear - those wee Dorniers are great fun! :)

Henry, do you think connecting off the new BABOO flight from Geneva with 1 hour 10 minutes between flights is just too tight in LCY? I figure, with online check-in, and the small distance in the single terminal of LCY, that it's just about doable.

I had heard that AF were going to code-share on these destinations, but I am not sure if that was limited to French destinations from GVA.

Concerto: I think that's easily do-able. But, bear in mind that LCY doesn't recognize 'connecting flights' as such! You'll have to disembark, come out into the (landside) check-in hall and then go back through security. But, assuming your onward from LCY is a domestic AF (CityJet) flight, then they actually allow check-in up to 10 minutes before departure! And, if you're already checked-in (online), then you should have no problem at all (assuming your inbound is reasonably on-time). You should even have time to get your shoes shined and indulge in a pot of wasabi peas!

N-class you say? Would that be a valid keep-alive for FB miles for a lowly Ivory?

<hatches plan>

Sure! It counts as a "paid flight" on AF!

That's exactly what I plan!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Henry. I'm such a chancer with these things, but I always seem to get away with it! Maybe be I'll have a pot of wasabi peas in celebration.

The alternative is easyJet GVA to AMS for CHF 37.95, then a free ticket to EDI at the current promotional rate of 5,000 miles (EUR 59 taxes). I would have 2 and a half hours in AMS, although I'm not sure where easyJet docks in AMS. Quite tempted by that route too.

Playing around with the website, you can get GBP39 from LCY to EDI for example. A One Way the other way round prices out the same. But I have been getting stupid things, such as the flight arriving at an unrecognizable time +49 days, or +322 days. I mean, these really are stupid things on what is supposed to be a serious website. I surely cannot be alone in getting progressively p***ed off with rubbish websites, overloaded with useless graphics, full of bugs, and never working properly?

If you price out a Round Trip starting in LCY, some pretty good prices come up (GBP39 outbound, GBP 24 inbound). If you price out a RT starting in EDI, it is more (GBP 40 outbound, GBP 56 inbound). So if starting in EDI, it is better to book two OWs. I haven't checked DND yet, which is closer to where I want to go.

As for my own trip, I booked easyJet from GVA to AMS for CHF45, and then a special 5,000 miles tkt on KL from there to EDI. I was on the point of giving up and boycotting Sleazy for good, because it took 4 attempts to push the booking through on that stupid piece of rubbish of a website of theirs (but that will be the subject of a rant elsewhere).

1 hr 10 min should be more than ample. MCT for online connecting flights in LCY is more like 30 minutes (sporty at times :) ).

AF will codeshare with Baboo on LCY to GVA and (via GVA) to VCE. Codeshare should go live in the coming days.
