Hey all..

Just a quick question..

I'm looking at booking a flight dxb-jfk. currently only the 8am flight is available for upgrade.. I wanted to use my miles for this flight.. however if any time during the next few months a seat opens up on the 2am flight.. i want to change from 8am to 2am.

does anyone know how long it takes ek or skywards to refund the miles.. or will the upgrade automatically transfer over?

i asked a rep on skywards and they said that the miles will be refunded immediately.. however it has been a total hit/miss with info i receive from skywards.

I recently changed the date of travel on an upgraded ticket because Emirates changed their schedules and I wanted to avoid a long delay in Dubai. I rang Skywards and the agent changed everything, upgrades included in one go at no charge. It took a 10 minute phone call. Something similar happened last year.

I don't know about a policy but it has worked both times I've tried it. I hope it works for you.

thanks for info missingmanager..

my first skywards rep told me that skywards couldn't make the change in booking.. only ek so this is good to hear..

Miles are credited instantly when you cancel and re-book, I usually have skywards on one phone and EK on the other.... never had difficulty before...

I have cancelled and rebooked many times and the miles get credited almost immidiately. Maximum time 10 mins. You can always call skywards and check or what i do is online upgrade which saves a lot of time.
