I flew MH in July to BLR and on the way back the aircraft was 4.5h delayed so I decided to purchase a new ticket and get on the SQ flight. The staff in BLR confirmed that my C-class ticket canbe refunded (one way). I have claimed this through my travel agent in Malaysia (ticket was issued there). Now it is October (almost 3 months) and still no refund from MH. :td: The travel agent forward me all e-mails to MH but....The last reply was kind of interesting...MH said to my TA ' refund officer was on compassionate leave last week and her back-up staff was on training'... but this is only 2 weeks out of 3 months...not a good performance in these difficult economy days .. :td:
Anybody any experience how long MH refunds take?

Isn't it fascinating how it takes them a few minutes to take your money from you when you book, and then it takes them months to give it back to you when you cancel?
Truly a mystery. But it certainly benefits them.
Call your credit card company now and tell them to remove the charges - at least you won't be stuck with finance charges! 3 months is ridiculous.

I finally got the refund a few days back. However it is actually a joke.. The fare was 2600 MYR return. They calculated approx 2100 MYR oneway and admin fee which brings it to 362 MYR refund ..:td: I dont think this is a way to retain C class customers.

That's standard way of calculating refunds for all airlines. Fare paid, less fare on segments flown, less admin fee. @:-) As a result, many refundable tickets have no refund value if partially used.
