Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Expedia.com cancelled part of itinerary. Any comeback?

I booked an Itinerary on expedia.com for AAA-BBB-AAA-BBB-AAA, basically 2 return trips on the 1 itinerary. The trip was booked a month ago and was ticketed and confirmations received. I today checked on checkmytrip.com and only the second half of the itinerary is showing i.e only 1 return trip. I checked on expedia and it shows the same. I emailed expedia and received a stock reply about airlines changing timetables every so often.

As the first flight is now less than 2 weeks away the flights are considerably dearer and I have plans I can't cancel. As the flight departs the UK and I haven't been notified is there any case for EU compensation? I wouldn't have thought so as the flights haven't been cancelled and still exist. What would other people suggest my plan of action should be?

Thanks

If you phone the airline, do they have your itinerary correct? That is what I would try first.

No, their records(QR) show the same as checkmytrip and expedia

Two things I can think of.

1) The airline detected that you are flying back-to-back to avoid minimum stay requirements or some such. They then cancelled the outbound ticket (AAA-BBB-AAA) nesting the BBB-AAA-BBB. Not sure what you can do about that especially given Expedia's less-than-stellar CS (at least outside the U.S.)

2) The two tickets have been split up into 2 parts; the A=>B and the B=>A portions. You might call QR and inquire if your original A=>B oubound flight is still showing and is confirmed. Even if not, they may be able to tell you what happened.

What does your ticket receipt say now?

My ticket receipt says never deal with expedia again:D

Still only showing the second half of my itinerary. By the time the Expedia agents ( I had to ring a few times) had found that there were flights missing, the QR office they had to ring was closed. They are saying it was the airline that has cancelled the flights, although all 8 flights were in sequence and weren't circumventing any min. stay requirements

TBH I just want them to refund the ticket now and i'll redeem miles for the first trip which is less than 2 weeks away and fares are now more expensive. BA J would be nicer than QR Y anyway.

Finally got Expedia in contact with Qatar, amazing that I could get in contact with Qatar easily yet their agents couldn't. They are now saying that the first 4 flights have been cancelled as they were ticketed incorrectly. So Expedia are saying that they will only honour the reservation as it stands and will not refund any part of the money paid, even though i could have bought 1 round trip at the time and even now much cheaper

I told the expedia agent and their supervisor that I wanted the ticket cancelling and refunding and they were unable to do that so have to ring back later and speak to corporate.

Will wait and see what they say and see if I have to get Amex dispute the charge

Finally got a refund after eventually being put through to the corporate office. The agents and 2 supervisors were adamant that even though I had paid for AAA-BBB-AAA-BBB-AAA that I would only be flying AAA-BBB-AAA and not being refunded. The corporate agent was actually quite good and offered to rebook the missing flights at no charge but at that point I had already decided that I wanted the whole trip refunded and not deal with Expedia. The whole thing has taken many hours of Phonecalls , suppose I am lucky that I checked my itinerary and didn't just turn up at the airport in just over a weeks time for my cancelled flights. Still don't understand why they cancelled the first trip rather than the second one.

Thanks

Nightmare.
I find it strange that Expedia can just change bookings and not inform the customer. They did it to my friend as well - changed his flight FORWARD a day. If he hadn't of checked manually, he would have missed his flight.
