Dear all,
I just qualified lifetime platinum with air france and have senator with lufthansa, valid till 2013. I thought it is time for me to go to top tier one world to insure myself a good position at all three alliance if I am blocked somewhere (I travel to a level my dog does not recognize me when I am home)
wich airline is the most rewarding and easy accessesd to top tier?
i get the feeling BA is just too complicate with thses tier points on top of miles, any one could help and guide me ?
thanks in advance!

What are your travel patterns? What is the usual cabin you pay for?

If you're looking for lifetime status then I think the choice is AA or QF. BA & CX don't; not sure about the others.

Important to know is that most OW programs (except for AA) enforce the rule that you only get status when you fly at least 4 segments per year with them.
So you need to chose AA or a program of an airline you actually fly. If lifetimes status is important and you don't care too much about earn/burn ration and you fly in premium cabins then I would chose QF. 7 RTW tickets in Business can give you lifetime Gold.
Also note that no OW airline offers their top status as lifetime. You can only get the medium tier status (QF Gold, AA Platinum) as lifetime.
You can also try to get to lifetime Gold status on Star Alliance if you have nothing better to do.

Which airlines require this? I searched the CX site and it did not mention this requirement.

QF, AA, LA and BA have it in their rules. There might be more airlines but I don't know their T&Cs. BA and QF enforce the rule (by boss lost his BA Gold because he only had three segments) but AA doesn't enforce the rule. Not sure about LA.
