Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Gate Seating Now Cushioned

Certainly not a big deal, but I've noticed that the original all-metal seats at the gates have now been cushioned, I guess after some people complaining that the seats were too hard. If you're one of them that didn't like the old seats and avoided getting to the gate too early because of it, you can now not worry about it. All the gates I've seen have the cushioned seats, though can't say I've check each and every gate.

Great news. I would prefer the cushioned seats only if they keep them clean at all times. Some cushioned seats get so dirty after sometime like the ones at DEL that you would not want to sit down.

They are more than likely 'padded' in the anticipation that pax will hang at the gate more so now that security clearance is taken care of earlier in the check-in process...?

It's because people keep complaining about how uncomfortable the airport is. They said they would do it a few weeks ago.

I noticed this during a layover on Thursday. Failed to mention it though.

Each terminal has a different color associated with it.

Will they reserve these new comfortable seats for premium pax or will we have to share them with ordinary people?

Nice change. I have always found the metal benches to be freezing cold to sit on.

I assume you mean 'concourse' rather than 'terminal'? I also noticed different colors, but wasn't paying any attention to why they were different colors at different gates.
