Las Vegas - Bellagio or MGM Signature or Wynn?

I'm looking to try to find a nice (excellent, but not necessarily extravagant) place for my parents' 30th wedding anniversary - they're spending two nights in Vegas (the stay is a Sunday-Tuesday in early January). The options, as far as I can tell, come down to 3 - price per night in parentheses:

a) Bellagio - Lake View Room ($199) or Lakeview Salone Suite ($299)

b) MGM Signature - 1 bedroom suite ($199 including resort fee). I'd love to pull off the Skylofts, but they're $1000+ a night!

c) Wynn - Resort room ($199) or Panoramic view ($249)

My parents are looking for some gaming (and so would like to be able to access a casino), but they'll be interested in location and they don't smoke. Since they'll be flying from PHL, a seamless check-in experience would be a plus. Personalized service and views of the Strip would be a big plus, too.

Which of these two would you recommend? If neither, do you have other suggestions? Thanks!

For something special, I would choose the Bellagio for sure.

Wynn would be a good alternative to Bellagio if you can get into the Tower Wing for that "special touch"

Reasons for my choice is for the touch of class in the finish to the rooms and the hotel, lovely pool area (even if you do not fancy a dip) and great restaurants.

MGM Signature is really off-strip and it is a hike to the main MGM hotel and the Strip. It is more like having an apartment in a block next to a shopping mall and casino.

Hi gmax58,

To be honest if you want a seamless personalised service , the Skylofts from what I hear are the way to go.

With the normal rooms, there is likely ot be a bit of a queue at check in and little personalised service.

The Bellagio Lake view rooms would have a view of the fountains and overlook the strip towards Paris LV, Ballys etc.

The Wynn ( you would probably need the Panoramic view or a high level room to get a view of the strip ( preferably south facing) to get the Mirage/TI etc.

The Wynn is very nice with good public areas and the Bellagio area are beautiful. Both do very good buffets.

I like also the Mandalay Bay ( get rooms that face North for the strip views)- the buffet is very good value for money.)

Regards

TBS

PS - In early January the Wynn had one pool and the spa/jacuzzi open but may be a bit too cold for a long swim)

Recommend Wynn first, then Bellagio.

Do note that all 3 properties are Virtuoso. A Virtuoso agent will be able to get additional perks as well and perhaps a slight break in the price.

I also would look at Wynn -- it is a slightly more human sized place than some of the other casino hotels. I have stayed at Bellagio and it was a disappointment and the check-in queues resemble a badly run airline counter at the airport in somewhat fancier surroundings. The Lake View is really nice but the service and the overt unabashed and obnoxious tip fishing is a major turn off.

I really like the Signature as it is like staying on the Strip without staying on the Strip. It is like a very nice condo and strip view suites (they are all suites) have nice views. The mini-kitchenette in the Jr. Suite or the full suite in the 1 BR is a nice touch.

The Palazzo and Venetian may be another option but these hotels are simply massive and the walk to the room can be quite onerous. They are, however, nice properties.

- tower @ encore/wynn

new >
- mandarin oriental (casino is at aria though)
- aria skysuites

other condohotels >
- vdara (new)
- trump (no "connected" casino like at others, but cheap)
- palms place

wait on skylofts until after citycenter, reports are not good, even if youre paying base rates

I'd take MGM off the list and other posters have pretty much described the differences between Wynn and Bellagio.

One additional thing to consider: When one says Wynn these days, one needs to include Encore. Encore's rooms are larger than Wynn's and they've been doing lots of promo rates lately.

If exploring the Strip on foot is of great importance, Bellagio is more centrally located.

...to what? BTW the sidewalks are a mess thanks to construction south of the Bellagio and direcly across LV BLVD.

I was referring to access to Paris, Caesars and Mirage primarily. Wynn/Encore will be more of a hoof-it to the first two than Bellagio would be. Bellagio has an overhead walkway to Bally's which connects inside to Paris, so you don't have to mess with the sidewalk construction.

Bellagio is also closer to the South cluster of NYNY/Luxor - sometimes tourists want to see those themed resorts.

I would definitely spring for the Wynn tower suites if you can. And for an even better experience, get limo service. The Wynn tower suites offer a private entrace/check in so you can be sure that the check in experience will be smooth.

Between the Bellagio and the Wynn, I personally prefer the Wynn. As for Bellagio's location, it's more "centrally located," but I don't really think of it as an advantage. The walk from the Bellagio resort rooms to anothe rproperty onthe strip is a long one.

Most definitely the Wynn - no one does Las Vegas like Steve Wynn, and aside from a sometimes badly-run check-in operation at the main towers, the properties are generally flawless.
