Hyatt Gold Passport - FFN & Bonus pts: Can I choose later?

Here is my situation: 8 stays this month, but right now not sure if I can use the free night within the redemption period.
My question: Can I decide later, and still receive FFN or Bonus pts for past stays? or I have to choose before stays to get the benefit?

An agent told me that we can chose points or nights late in the promo period. The software will do a backwards sweep and credit us appropriately.

You need to choose now, before your first stay.

From my private line agent:

"If your friend has stays starting Oct 1, but doesn't enroll until the end of Oct, lets say, it will retro back to the beginning of the promotion."

In the past we could register after the fact and the sweep would credit all past stays that were made during the promo dates.

So which is it? I see some opinions..
