Airlines of India - 9W has the worst seat in economy from SIN to MAA

I recently flew SIN-MAA-COK R/T on Jet Airways. I flew economy on the outbound and business on the inbound. The reason I did that was, I did not need lounge in SIN and since MAA-COK was on JetConnect with no business class or lounge access in MAA, I couldn't justify the additional cost for the 4 hr flight in business.

What a mistake. I was in the 2nd row of the economy cabin. Initially the legroom was bearable, but when the passenger in front of me reclined her seat it was practically in my face. Without reclining my seat I could not sit there. I felt sorry for the person behind me because his seat did not recline, since it was in front of the exit. With 31 inches of legroom why would they install seats that recline so much. Jet executives should sit in these seats for 4 hours to see how uncomfortable they are. Jetconnect from MAA to COK had the same or an inch more leg room. But with seat in front of you not reclining as much, it was acceptable

I agree - I would never, ever fly 9w's international Boeing Y config again - even though they blocked a row for me (the only free seats in the Y cabin) on one side, it was unbearable, as I couldn't sit straight (legs too long).

This was to BOM, so add about 2 hours to your journey.

Echo comments on SIN-MAA on 9W. Nonexistent legroom. Yup, couldn't sit straight. Ridiculous. Flew them once and will never fly them again..I prefer Air India Express or even Tiger Airways. Kingfisher may have started flights to singapore which i'm sure would be good.

I have done the MAA-KUL-MAA run in a similar configuration, was saved because the passenger in front of my seat did not recline.

Do they still fly their metal to KUL from anywhere?

They still have a MAA-KUL flight, leaving at 1 min past midnight.
