Hi,
I was very recently invited to the President's Club and I am happy about that. Unfortunately, I have not the slightest clue what to expect.
What are your experiences?

Experiences were hit and miss. I always book a full-size and sometimes I got upgraded to a Cadillac, another other time I was required to take a midsize or Mustang coupe even though there were full, premium & SUV on their lot ("They're all reserved" was the excuse given). The upgrade % was probably somewhere near 75-80% and usually either premium (Hyundai Azera mostly) or SUV. Other than that, there was only 1 benefit that I saw anything from: guaranteed car availability. It was blizzard-like conditions a few winters ago in the "mid-west" (IN, OH, western PA) and I was able to force a car in PIT to be dropped off in CLE. Now with Chairman status, I still feel the guaranteed car is the biggest benefit because I've had to make a few last-minute trips when cars were not able to be had, except by those with higher status ^

We have almost always been upgraded as PC. We used to always reserve a full-size, and many times received a luxury, or at the least, a premium. More recently, we have dropped down to renting a mid-size.
With the mid-size reservation, they usually had a full-size set aside for us, but a couple of years ago we started asking for a convertible (MCO) and they've always accommodated us. Now since the convertible is in our profile, we almost always have one waiting in our space when we arrive (with a mid-size reservation).
Our experience is limited, however, as we don't travel a lot, generally only three trips per year to the U.S., but our trips are usually 3-4 weeks each time. Past good experiences have been at DEN, LAS, SEA and MCO, with MCO now our primary location for the past couple of years. Depending on locations, YMMV.

I never get the car class i reserve(I get some upgrade), i typically rent a lot, but looks like October is going to be rentless for me, the only month in 2009 i won't have a rental. I made up for it with 3-9 rentals in other months however.
How are PC experiences in Europe, specifically ZRH?

No idea about ZRH, but always got a 2 class upgraded in Germany and Spain ... from A3 upgrade to Merc C class, BMW 3, Audi A4 mostly new cars with lots of extras and GPS. 1A service, never had a problem. In MUC I got a BMW 7 class, however, you can't drive a BMW 5 or 7, or Merc. E & S to Italy!

It's funny, since our company has both Chairmans and President's, it's almost the case the President's members get more recognition in Europe because they have their own top tier President's Club members. While CHM is generally NA based, it also only exists in NA so sometimes a few stations I've been at overseas have no idea what Chairman's is - but they love President's club members.

i have had pretty good luck with upgrades this year. Our corporate rate for a full size is usually about $40 a day, and about 80% of the time they give me a Cadillac STS or CTS or a Lincoln.
