A new route (albeit as a tag-on to Singapore) in these times is a good thing, choice seems to be a wise decision, especially with that mega-bus with 390 Y-class seats!

Wouldn't that be the longest KLM flight? I could not imagine being cramped in a 10-row abreast in Y or sliding in WBC for that long.

I thought they flew this route about 15 years back via SIN?

Nothing new or spectacular, prefer SQ for this route (:

Yes they did. So it's "Resume"

However, KLM's outbound schedule is much better, arriving in DPS in the evening, have a drink, go to bed and wake up the next morning fresh and ready for the holiday. ^

I believe the other 6 people in the row with you in WBC will have a wedge effect and keep you from sliding too much.

And seeing how the other six people will all be friends of the crew or KLM-ers themselves, they will be more than willing to help you with anti-slip techniques.

This is a bit too late for me. :( I'm heading to DPS in a few days and I had to fly KL to CGK and then tag on a cheap AirAsia flight to get to DPS. It's the CGK transfer that I'm dreading....

From 21 January 2010, KLM will operate the route to Bali 4 times a week. The fourth frequency will operate on day 4 and return to Amsterdam on day 5.

They have also reduced the fare in peak-season and the off-season.

But even the increased frequency, and the fact that they're reducing fares to try to entice customers, has not translated into award tickets (particularly in Business Class).

I've been trying to get a pair of RT award WBC tickets to Bali in mid-April for a couple of months now, and no luck. We've finally decided on St. Maarten instead. Different direction, but water and beaches (and Delft houses) nonetheless.

KL expected to sell 15,000 tickets to Bali this winter, but have already sold 13,000. CEO Hartman admits one reason is that tickets are being sold below cost.

This reminds me a bit of the scene in the American sitcom King of the Hill where Luanne asks her boyfriend to give her the tuition to beauty school, which costs $250. He says no because he only has $300.
