Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Alamo - 2 rez instead of 1 b/c cheaper rate - will this work?

Hi All! Need help from the experts. I have been trying to reserve a car for 10.7.09 thru 10.11.09 at IAH. If I put those dates in straight the avg cheap rate is ~$300 - the lowest in further reseaching IDs & Coupons is $255.

I found though that booking 10.8 thru 10.11 - assuming because it qualifies as a pure weekend rental - i was about to get $18.95/day....so with all taxes & weekend coupon, it comes to ONLY $77!!!

Now I was trying to find a cheap rate for that single day 10.7 to 10.8...was first only finding in the range of $135...but finally stumbled across a code that gave me around $58/day rate so with taxes comes to $82.

Now clearly $82+$77=$159 is WAY cheaper than $255.

Can I book these as 2 separate reservations...but not have to drive all the way back to the airport after the "first" rez ends on the 8th? ...kind of like when you book back-to-back hotel reservations (whether due to out of pocket payment & points...or even the same scenario with rates) - you normally never have to actually check-out of your hotel room (pack your stuff & leave the room) and then check back in.

Has anyone else ever done this? Pls help!!! Thanks!

I have always had to drive back to the airport, close out the first contract, and open the second. Have always been able to keep the same car as long as I booked the same type for both reservations.

(Though I have only tried this going from a one-way to a local... not sure if Alamo will combine two local reservations.)

Sorry there is no way to combine it. It will have to be done as 2 seperate transactions for the rates to kick in, which means going back closing the first rental and doing a second one. You can stay in the same car if you want but you will need to go into the original renting location.
