My guess...around 20000€ in J and about 5000€ in Y for one way tickets...

It's for charity - not an inexpensive mileage run.

Not only for one way my friend. It also includes the return on another AF flight (Not A380) as well as some extra stuff while in New York/Paris depending on which one you choose.

Besides, as said in the post before mine, this is a charity event which I think is very noble of AF ^

AF could have the decency to offer F seats to those who are bidding such high amounts on their charity flights instead of reserving them all for their CEO and VVIP guests. :mad:

VVIP = AF CEO plus Friends, Family and colleagues of AF staff
VIP = Celebs, politicians, reality TV participants and the like
Eco in that wonderful sardine cabin configuration = anyone else who is prepared to pay a fortune for the privilege (albeit for "charidee")

My feeling is that AF is a business. If it wants to donate to charity, maybe they should use their own €€. (Always felt this corporate giving thing was a bit of a sham, allowing companies more kudos than they're due since it is the customers that really do the giving. They donate the seats of course, but the amount paid usually greatly exceeds their value.)

I would have thought that maybe the company should have-shock horror- given away some seats to its frequent fliers. (The ones that haven't left following the plundering of FB). Did they make any such gesture?

Slightly off topic...flew with NW a few times last week in the US and both myself and Mrs.IF were upgraded each time. Believe this benefit will disappear following delta takeover. Always thought it was weird that a partner airline has done much more for me by way of upgrades than AFKLM.

That should be nice for those of us FTers who'll be on one or more of those flights! :) I think, IIRC, you're on AF007 on 23/11, aren't you, irishguy28? And there's a few of us on AF006 (23/11) and AF007 (24/11)! ^

I'm sure we can keep the cabin crew both occupied and entertained! :p
