Mr. Cynnamin & I have a RT flight from SIN-NRT on 10/9 & 10/13. Should I be worried?

Could you perhaps give a little more information? Worried about what?

Sorry. Should have been more clear. We have F award on the flight, but I'm getting nervous reading various recent posts about JAL's financial situation. I doubt JAL isn't going to be flying next week, but you never know...

They probably won't cease operations so quickly. I think the complete shut down is still a (short) while away.

Be careful about the onset of strikes and other social/industial action though. I think there is a lot of uncertainty, and things are really brewing amongst the JAL labour force. No better way to try to put pressure on the govt., than having a couple of wild strikes (!!!). (cf. Sabena, Swissair, Varig, Alitalia, etc.)

Normally, if you were to get stuck in TYO after the airline closes down, JAL's competitors will offer some very cheap special fares to get you back home. You might have to downgrade to Y-class though.

Final word of advice: better spend ALL your JMB-miles on other OW-airlines as soon as possible!!! (as long as your miles are still worth something).

It pains me to agree with such an obvious troll about anything but there's a first time for everything, I guess.

I just booked a ticket with my last 90k miles. I hope JAL is around for a long time to come but at this point, I'm not very confident. :(

You know this actually will help JAL's balance sheet. It's kind of a win-win situation for now :)

I wouldn't worry about flights in the coming weeks. Even if JAL has a strike, most likely it won't affect international operations and it should be a more civilized strike.
