I have a missing rental credit for a recent rental at Hertz San Jose in Costa Rica. (Man those folks are sort of disorganized there and told me at the time of my rental that they don't ever send back rental confirmations to hertz corporate since they're a franchise. As a side note, they also acted like they had no idea I was coming and when they found the reservation acted as though they were doing me a favor by giving me the car!) Anyway, talked to hertz corp and they told me to fax the rental agreement to a specified fax number and i've done it now 5 times at my expense from various fax machines and....nothing. This is also the problem i've had with the #1 awards written contract that you have to fax in for it to be effective overseas. I fax and fax and nobody ever seems to get it.

I REALLY need credit for this rental as i will have exactly 10 rentals by year's end and without this credit will miss out on leveling.

Any hertz reps here that can assist? I'm at wit's end.

If you have all the information you can fill out a request online, they say it takes a week to credit if it's successful. It's in the #1 club #1 awards menu step, they have a form for missing points request. You need the dates of the rental and the rental agreement number (not the reservation number)

I did that already. Then they called me to say they can't find the RA number (because it's never been forwarded from the Costa Rica shop) and I need to fax the proof. i have faxed and faxed and faxed and nothing. grr

I would seriously grab some incredible one day weekend rental or something just as a backup rental in case you can't get them to post this one. $33 may be worth it, grab a car and put a few miles on it and make a getaway weekend out of it.
