I have browsed several pages and threads and can't seem to find one with any reference to hotels in the area of CDG, although I do remember seeing one!
Anyway, I have a 12 hour layover after arriving from BOG before heading off to KUL via SIN, my question is what hotel would you kind folk recommend. I should be arriving CDG around 11 in the morning.
Any advice would be appreciated^

Sheraton is on the premises of the airport and is often available using Cash/Points if you are an SPG member. Excellent location, rooms, restaurant, internet cafe in lobby.

You also have Novotel and Hilton close by which according to some FT'ers are nice. Have stayed at the Sheraton a few times before and it is nice, BUT I find the restaurant way over priced and not that good.

To use the room for the day only is around EUR 199 (or there abouts)...

I would pick the Hilton and get a room with a view on Concorde F-BVFF (aka the CDG Concorde statue). She looks very beautiful day or night! :)

The Sheraton is always my first choice simply for convenience as it's a short walk to the gates. Sometimes if I get the Hyatt for significantly cheaper I'll take it. Their shuttle is pretty reliable.

I'd go with priceline and a 4*+ hotel ... it's either the Hilton or the Sheraton. If you are a HH Gold or Diamond you should consider the Hilton and hang out in the nice exec. lounge.

Since the arrival of the VAL, I now primarily use the Hilton. I do like the Sheraton, but it is difficult to justify the difference in price, when the major gain is a few minutes on an automated shuttle and a 5mn walk each way.

For a shorter stopover, I just pay a room by the hour at the Ibis, except in the summertime, as the Ibis does not have air conditioning.

The few times I have checked the Hilton since CDGVAL started, it has either been sold out or just as expensive as the Sheraton. That's why I end up at the Hyatt sometimes. I tried the HIX once. It's fine as long as you factor in a longer shuttle trip.

There's something abstract I don't like about the Sheraton. It's very pretty and nice but it feels like a luxury prison. The rooms seem very airtight and there is a bizarre silence in the hotel. It's just a "feeling" the building exudes that bothers me. I prefer the Hilton.

I have stayed at the Sheraton at least 30 times, only one night at a time of course, and I agree. I would never stay there if it were a city hotel. But I'm only there for 8 hours or so and its just too convenient for those morning flights. The newly doomed Sofitel inside LYS has the same feeling. In fact name me a hotel inside an airport that doesn't feel weird?
