I reserved a standard suv using the costco discount obtained from costco.com. I checked in at the kiosk but somehow missed the opportunity to select the car I wanted, so the printout did not have a car on it.
So I asked the guys at the counter and he set us up with huge suv. We are not fans of huge suvs, so he changed it to a Ford Edge. There was no request for a costco card during this process.
I have rented from thrifty and fox at SAN before and this was a better experience.
I also noticed that National/Alamo share a building.
