West - DEN Heads-up for Oct 1 -- 4 to 8 inches of snow being predicted

They've been wrong before, who knows.

This is a prediction for snow in the mountains and not the city. Non-factor at this time for the airport.

As usual, elevation is the deciding factor in Colorado weather. From 9News:

Thursday: Much cooler and very windy. Partly cloudy skies are forecast with a 20% chance of showers. Morning lows will be from 35 to 41 degrees, afternoon highs from 52 to 56 degrees.

Friday: Areas of patchy frost in the morning, then becoming mostly sunny and mild. Morning lows are forecast to be from 30 to 35 degrees, afternoon highs from 58 to 63 degrees.

And it takes a LOT of snow to adversely affect DIA.

Agree w/ teh other posters that it's not likely to hit DIA. But 4-8" is really nothin' around here. Of course, we are coming into that time of year again that things start to get fun....

This is silly...can the title be changed or the post removed since it's highly inaccurate? It's going to be in the mid-50s in Denver Thursday (81 today). I want the 90 seconds of my life back for clicking and now replying.

Denver suffers from the most over-hyped weather in the world, I think. There was some snow in the foothills recently (down to 7,000+ feet; visible from the city but just rain down here) and at least three people in Baltimore said to me, "I saw you got snow already in Denver!" I think the Chamber of Commerce or Colorado Ski Country USA is behind it - it's a conspiracy! (He shouted, wiping flecks of spit from his mouth.)

I think its a really good conspiracy. I moved to Colorado from the midwest, and am trying to shut the gate behind me lest our beloved mountain land with its premium weather be turned into some form of urban jungle.

Many of my friends in Chicago "suffer" under the delusion that Denver/Fort Collins/Springs/Boulder winters are bitter and harsh. Let's just let them keep thinking that ;) CLOSE THE GATE BEHIND YOU PEOPLE (also wipes flecks of froth off his mouth). lol

Now I was planning a visit to Denver probably in May 2010 so I guess I cancel.
