JetBlue TrueBlue - Ideas needed to prevent 30+ TB points from croaking

With the delay of the new TB program, I now have 30+ TB points expiring in 8 days--these are points I did not expect to expire if the new TB had program rolled out in late September as announced.
I know that I can pay $125 + bahksheesh handling fee + tax to "round up" to an award by buying extra TB points, but that is an expensive way to preserve those points for at best one year (in the form of a forced reward).
I used to have a B6 Amex but cancelled it when the annual fee came due and with the new program, thought it would not be needed since most my spending goes to the more useful SPG AX card.
Given the brainpower of this board, I seek ideas as to how to prevent the evaporation of those points.
Thanks in advance.

1) find someone with an amex who can transfer 70 TB credits to your account
2) let them keep one of the 1 way certs
3) compensate them for their 20 credits/ 4500 miles used to get your 1 way award

Why not? The new program isn't changing the old points.
Are you actually going from 30 to 0 or just losing 30 points to some lower number? From the $125 fee it sounds like the latter. I'm torn on paying the ~$150ish for the reward or just letting them go. That is a lot to pay for a free ticket. On the other hand, it isn't a bad deal for a transcon or some other decent route. If you think you'll be able to use the reward on something like that rather than JFK-SYR I'd probably pay up for it.

I'm not sure why you were banking on the switchover to the new program to somehow save your points - it's already been said that your old points will still remain old points with no change in the terms of expiration - namely that they'd still expire after a year of receiving them, or in 8 days in your case. Unless you were planning on flying $833.33 (the 25 points you'd need based on how many you were buying * 200 TB2 points per TB1 point / 6 points per dollar spent online) worth of flights within those next 8 days and transferring those new points over to old points to complete the 100 points required for an award, then I'm not sure what your thinking was...
The only ways to get B6 points are to fly, use the B6 amex, transfer them from amex MR, or buy them (other then various promotions such as EnergyPlus or something else like that). Unfortunately, at this point it looks like you're gonna have to spend the $125+ to keep those points - as to whether or not it's worth it is up to you.

My mistake. Brain fart and info overload on my part pouring through pages on this and other threads.

I have same problem as original poster as my 24 points will go to zero in a few days. A family member with an Amex card has over 89 points not expiring until June 2010, but I don't see any way to transfer points between us (as suggested by poster jessej) to save even part of my 24 points and get one of us an award. Any ideas?

You have until Monday the 26th of October to buy points for 50% off the regular price. Just log in to your True Blue account and go to the purchase points link. This is the easiest way to top up your account for a reasonable amount of money.

jessej was referring to an amex charge card that has points in the membership rewards program. From there, you can transfer points into TB at a rate of 250:1. Once points are in someone's TB account, unfortunately they're stuck there and can't be transferred to anyone.
