My flight on 11/1 has changed arrival time from 0500 to 0700 yet the departure time is the same. Does anyone know how they added 2 hours to the flight? Are they flying slower to save on fuel or something?

is there a clue in the date- ie end of summer time in US?

Good question. I also have booked at flight on Asiana OZ767 on March 11 originally scheduled to depart 1930 hrs and arrive 2345. Now departing 1940 and arriving 0050. This is part of an award ticket so my info comes from Air Canada so I have no idea how reliable this is. Asiana site does not show time change. I don't think South Korea or India have daylight savings time. Is the change in flight time just a tech glitch or do airlines slow down/speed up to expedite landings? etc

Well the thing is that the flight time went from 12 hours total to 13 hours and 30 minutes so I don't think daylight saving time had anything to do with it.

Ever think about maybe due to strong headwind in winter ?

Since you are a UA person you should heard about when UA first start flying ORD-HKG in mid 90s, it was one direction nonstop only in the winter months, that is before they allow a polar routing.

That could be it although kinda strange they didn't work that out prior to loading the fares and schedules. Sorry only started flying UA this year. Thanks for your info though. I am actually looking forward to it even more because I had a 5 hour layover and now it's only 3 :) Only 4 rows in C though so I guess no AVOD. Just means I will bring more DVD's for my laptop.
