Thanks for letting us know Johan. Sorry for being slow on this, but for which products are these increases? Are these general price rises across the board? Do you have a link to a URL please? I have tried a search but have not done well.

If I change after tomorrow a fully flexible ticket in ES (highest fare bucket) I have not yet flown, will they reprice it?

Ya I agree with that KL airlines raise some fares but it is also cheap for India to Singapore Flights. Just 19800 Rs for Delhi to Singapore. Isn't it reasonable? I think really cheap.

Is this being introduced as an actual, genuine fare rise rather than a 'tax for use of the Polderbaan' or some such?

Is this for tickets bought in NL or all EURO markets or all markets in currency equivalent?
Source please!

I found out when I paid a visit to my travel agent this morning. They were actually in the process of writing me an e-mail about it, as I had some tickets which had not been issued yet. I told them to forget the e-mail, so I have nothing in writing. My understanding is that these are genuine across-the-board fare increases, not "tax"/charge/supplement hikes. Also, the increases are per return ticket, so I assume one-way flights will increase by half those amounts. I didn't think to ask whether all this applies to the Dutch market only.

I can imagine the scene now.......

"OK, so yields have fallen through the floor, people are deserting the premium cabins....who's got any ideas??"

"I know, let's increase prices....that should do the trick"

Unbelievable....firstly they upset their FF (who are likely to be less price sensitive than most)....then they start charging more for the same product which will encourage the more price sensitive to go elsewhere. You couldn't make this up

Here is a link to KLM's announcement (in Dutch only):

It applies to all KL, AF and NW fares for tickets with flights originating in the Netherlands.

The good thing is they did not make this an evil surcharge of some sort. They're free to price the fares as they please.

Of course any business can charge whatever it wants for its products but you have to ask the question; "Is now really the right time to do this?"

No

This combined with the 2nd bag charge....someone has been drinking too many little house contents
