Air France Frequence Plus - Outbound and inbound TGV'Air the same day

Hello all,

I hold a return ticket xxx-CDG-QJZ (Nantes Train station) -CDG-xxx with a stopover in Paris. Ticket is fully flexible.

Actually I would like to skip the CDG-QJZ-CDG legs because I have noting to do overthere. I initially intended to do the two train segments within the same day. Then I remember about two things :
1/ One can go to TGV'Air counter in CDG to pick up the boarding pass (actually the train ticket), never step on the train to QJZ and get the miles anyway.

But if I do this and never check-in in QJZ for the QJZ-CDG leg, my return to xxx will be cancelled.

2/ On domestic and European destination, one can get his boarding passes for both the outbound and the inbound flights at the departure check-in if the flights are the same day.

Example : on a CDG-MUC-CDG or CDG-NCE-CDG the same day, one can pick-up his CDG-MUC (alt. CDG-NCE) and MUC-CDG (alt. NCE-CDG) boarding passes at the chek-in desk in CDG.

My question then is : does this thing apply to TGV'Air? Will I be able to pick-up my boarding passes (train tickets) for CDG-QJZ and QJZ-CDG at the TGV'Air counter in CDG if the segments are the same day?

hi bodory,

from my experience (as I regularly use the TGVair from BRU-CDG-xxx-CDG-BRU) is that the first leg is mandatory as otherwise they will cancel your trip since you are a NO SHOW. As for the return trip, the boarding pass will be provided at check in at the airport of departure, but it will be exchanged at CDG for a new BP for the TGVair. If you do not use this option, no miles will be credited to your account unfortunately

hope this helps a bit

Actually I know that in the case you mention, one has to start the journey with the train segment. Of course I need the miles but at first I need the journey not being cancelled.

I think bodory's question was whether he could exchange both the CDG-QJZ and the QJZ-CDG BPs for TGV coupons at CDG rather than having to exchange the QJZ-CDG BP at QJZ.

That is exactly my point. In my case, the journey does not begin with a train but with a plane segment and I intent to avoid not one but both the train segments, which are in the middle of the trip.

Probably too late for the OP but also did a xxx-CDG-QJZ C run the other day. It is not possible to pick up both the outbound and return train tickets for TGVair at CDG, so you will have to take both trains to avoid cancellation of your ticket. If anyone plans to drop a train segment, it can only be at the end of your trip and not if it's in the middle of your itinerary; just like flight segments actually.

Thanks. I finally cancelled my trip so I was bot faced to that situation.

Nevertheless, when I called to modify the tickets (which I cancelled next), I was told by AF that you cannot do a stopover in CDG when arriving from a plane segment to take the train segment, even if fare rule allows it. You have to take the train "immediately". I do not know if that has been verified though.
